Pokemon Happy Mills are back at McDonald’s

McDonald’s is said to be bringing back the popular and slightly controversial Pokemon Happy Meals. These Happy Meals were released in 2021 and despite the fact that these mini meals are usually for kids, and are usually packaged with a toy tied to a related movie, video game or TV series, adults and kids alike have gone to the popular fast food chain in Large numbers to buy. The reason is that they came in what is now a rather precious Pikachu chest and they also have packs of four Pokemon trading cards, including a rare McDonald’s exclusive card. McDonald’s is all too familiar with items that drive crowds of people to whip up new items, like Szechuan mulan sauce, but McDonald’s will try again with its Pokemon promotion.

According to NintendoLifeMcDonald’s restaurants in the UK are preparing to start selling Pokemon Happy Meals. According to anonymous sources, the meal will return to UK stores on August 3, 2022. Details of the promotion have yet to be decided, let alone confirmed, but the meal is expected to return with more trading cards. As of now, it’s not clear if the Happy Meal will be sold in the US or not, but it’s hard to imagine it being restricted to the UK after how well it worked last time around.

If the cards come back, fans will likely expect a strict limit on the number of cards someone can have because McDonald’s eventually only gave out one card package per transaction last time. With the show rumored to be coming up in the next few weeks, it’s likely that McDonald’s will start teasing and promoting the return of Pokemon Happy Meals soon. Of course, since the beloved fast food chain has yet to confirm this, it should still be treated as a rumor and eaten with a grain of salt from French fries.
